How to Use Pregnancy Insights
There are two ways to enable Pregnancy Insights:
-
Tap on the
menu in the upper-left corner of the Today tab. Select Settings > Women's Health, and toggle on the feature. Once Pregnancy Insights is turned on, cycle-related sections will be hidden, and you’ll be prompted to onboard
- Add the "Positive Pregnancy Test" tag, which will prompt you to learn more and onboard
During the onboarding process, you can read more about privacy and set your estimated due date. If you don’t know your due date yet, you can input your last period date and menstrual cycle length and an estimated due date will be calculated. To enable the feature, you must complete the onboarding slides and set an estimated due date in order for your gestational age to be calculated. You can go back into your settings at any point and change your estimated due date, and this will also recalculate your gestational age.
Once enabled, you'll see a Pregnancy Insights shortcut and homecard in your Today tab. The card will show which trimester you're in, your gestational age, and your next milestone.
Tapping on the card or shortcut will take you to the detail view, which includes:
- Gestational age tracker, supported by three rings representing three trimesters
- A weekly message about how the body changes during pregnancy, based on your gestational age
- A Keeping Track section where you can tag symptoms, activities, emotions, or any context you’d like to add to your pregnancy (e.g. high elevation)
-
A Trends section with Trimester and Pregnancy views, showing your seven-day averages for four metrics: nighttime heart rate, temperature trends, heart rate variability (HRV), and respiratory rate
-
You can press and hold the graphs to scroll across the trend line and explore your data in detail
- Each graph includes a shaded reference range, based on the most commonly observed patterns among Oura members during pregnancy. It can provide some helpful context as you view your own data over time
- The colors in the Trends section match the trimesters shown in the rings at the top of the screen. Note that the colors do not reflect health status.
- Additional educational content that changes weekly
-
You can press and hold the graphs to scroll across the trend line and explore your data in detail
Turning Off Pregnancy Insights
You can turn off the feature at any time:
- From the shortcut on the Today tab, or the Pregnancy Insights detail view: tap the Settings
icon in the upper-right corner, then toggle off the feature
- Tap the
menu in the upper-left corner of the home screen. Go to Settings > Women's Health, and toggle off the feature
- You can also use the tags “birth” or “pregnancy loss”, which will automatically turn the feature off
If you accidentally enabled Pregnancy Insights, select “Being curious, not pregnant” when prompted to share the outcome. If you choose a different option, the pregnancy will be logged in your Cycle History and can’t be deleted.
Turning off Pregnancy Insights will remove the feature from your current app experience. However, you can still view past pregnancy data by navigating to previous dates in the app calendar.
Temperature Trends Throughout and After Pregnancy
Increased progesterone levels or other changes during pregnancy can cause your average body temperature to increase slightly. If your temperature data regularly records a significant and consistent temperature change from your baseline, it may take 60 to 90 days for this temperature baseline to normalize in your Oura App. You can continue to track your temperature trends through the Body temperature graph.
Pregnancy Insights and Cycle Insights
When Pregnancy Insights are turned on, Cycle Insights are temporarily hidden but not deleted. Your cycle data stays saved in the background and will be available if you choose to turn Cycle Insights back on later.
Cycle Insights also adapts to support you during and after pregnancy. If you scroll back to the timeframe when you were pregnant, that chapter is acknowledged throughout your cycle history.
After pregnancy, period predictions and logging reminders are paused until a new period is logged. Cycle phases and chance of conception are shown as unknown, until you start cycling again. It’s normal for the menstrual cycle to take time to adjust after pregnancy.
You can enable Cycle Insights again when your body is ready and your cycle resumes. At that point, your Cycle History will show Post Pregnancy as new data is collected. Period predictions, cycle phases, Fertile Window (if available), and cycle-related insights will return once your cycle is detected again through natural temperature patterns.
How to Remove Your Women's Health Data
Women's Health data may include information about your cycles, such as your latest period start date and cycle length, women's health-related tags (such as positive pregnancy test, ovulation, positive LH test, etc.), period prediction settings, reproductive hormone answers, pregnancy information, and fertile window. Your data is collected, used, and protected in compliance with Oura's Privacy Policy.
You can remove your data from the app at any time in the Settings menu under Women’s Health. Removing your data will disable all Women's Health features in the Oura App. If you would like to delete from Oura’s servers completely, you can choose Delete account and all data in the Settings menu or through Oura on the Web. See How Oura Protects Your Data.

Troubleshooting Pregnancy Insights
Trends Not Showing Up
If you joined Oura during pregnancy as a new member and don’t have pre-pregnancy data, you may see a calibration message instead of Trends. It usually takes 7–14 days of consistent ring wear to establish your baselines and show Pregnancy Trends.
Missing Certain Tags or Activities in the Details Section
Some tags are excluded from the Pregnancy Insights view. This includes certain activity-related tags, as well as tags like pregnancy, low sperm count, and erectile dysfunction. You can still access these in your main Tags history.
Missing or Incomplete Data
Pregnancy Trends rely on consistent nighttime data. If you're missing data on certain days, you may notice gaps in the Trends graphs. For best results, try to wear your ring regularly and especially at night.
Things to Keep in Mind
- As your body adapts to pregnancy, you may see daily changes in your Readiness contributors, which may affect your Readiness Score. Try to focus on your long-term trends in your vitals as opposed to your daily scores
- If your data falls outside the reference range for a prolonged period of time, treat it as a helpful piece of context as you assess how you feel. Outlier data should not be used as an indication of a medical condition.
- Even if your data is within the reference range, if you are having worrisome symptoms, please contact your doctor
- The length of each trimester is defined differently by different organizations. Oura is using the definition as defined by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
