You can use your Oura Ring with Natural Cycles (NC°), the first FDA-cleared birth control app. Oura Ring members can sync their temperature trend data collected overnight into the Natural Cycles app each morning, which will then be analyzed using Natural Cycle's algorithm to calculate daily fertility status.
Natural Cycles is available for:
- Gen2
- Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 with active membership
- iOS
- Android
You must have a Natural Cycles subscription to use this integration, and Oura members get access to an exclusive Natural Cycles discount here.

Data Synced with Natural Cycles
The temperature sensors in the Oura Ring generate 1,440 data points each day, and are validated to measure temperature changes as precisely as 0.13°C (0.23°F). Temperature trend data collected overnight from the Oura Ring is synced with the NC° app every day. Natural Cycles then uses this data to help calculate your daily fertility status.
Only temperature trend data is shared between the two apps. No period data or other Oura metrics are transferred, so you will need to log your period directly in the NC° app. Natural Cycles also syncs with Apple Health.
If you're a current Oura member but new to Natural Cycles, keep in mind that only temperature data recorded after the first period you log in the NC° app will be used by their algorithm. This applies as long as you indicated during setup that you haven’t recently used hormonal birth control or been pregnant.
See How Oura Protects Your Data in this article, and for more information about the Natural Cycles integration, see the FAQs here.
Differences Between Oura and Natural Cycles
If you're using both Oura and Natural Cycles, you may notice slight differences in predictions between the two apps. That’s because each uses its own proprietary model based on your temperature trend data.
Natural Cycles uses an FDA-cleared algorithm specifically optimized for fertility tracking and birth control.
Oura offers features like Cycle Insights, which helps you better understand the phases of your menstrual cycle, and Fertile Window, which supports conception by providing estimated ovulation timing.
